Bromley is located just 19 minutes by train from Central London and there are also fast trains to Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye and Blackfriars. Thameslink trains cross London to Kentish Town and Luton Airport. Bromley is a leafy enclave of highly rated schools and retail heaven at the Glades Shopping Centre. There are also many restaurants, cafes and pubs to choose from. A traditional market is held in the pedestrian-free town centre Thursday to Saturday offering veggies, fish and plant stalls as well as secondhand records, ladies fashions and independent food tents. Several gyms, some 24/7 are now open catering for fitness fanatics and the council-run Pavilions includes a swimming pool and bowling alley while the town centre parks at Church House and the Churchill Gardens have fantastic children's play areas, tennis courts and dog walking possibilities. High Elms Country Park is a short drive down the A21 from the town. The Churchill Theatre offers many plays and musicals destined for the West End and The Picturehouse and Vue cinemas appeal to film goers.
